For the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner’s Privacy Awareness Week 2023 campaign, I helped design the brand system, website experience, and campaign materials around the theme “Privacy 101: Back to Basics.”
The creative direction used pixel art and retro digital aesthetics inspired by the ‘80s and ‘90s, referencing early computing and a “simpler internet” to make privacy feel more approachable and memorable. This visual system was applied across the website, social media, posters, and print materials, including a UI concept inspired by Windows 98 to reinforce the nostalgic digital narrative.
The result was a cohesive multi-channel campaign that improved cut-through for privacy awareness messaging through a distinctive and engaging visual identity.
