The challenge was to brand and develop the website’s user experience and campaign material for the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner’s Privacy Awareness Week 2023 with the theme “Privacy 101: Back to Basics.” To stand out and promote awareness, a unique approach was taken by adopting pixel art as the primary design element, reflecting the concept of returning to a time when privacy was less of an issue. This retro look and feel from the '80s and '90s was implemented across all materials, creating cohesive branding on the website, social media, posters, and flyers. The website’s user interface was designed with a nod to old Windows 98. The result was a visually appealing and engaging campaign that successfully generated attention and awareness of privacy.
